One of the most important enablers for becoming an active member of this network is technology that can provide total visibility of the supply chain (SC) in order to establish effective collaborations and increase the level of resilience and flexibility required. The Internet of Things, or IoT, is one of the most advanced technological developments, providing the connectivity required among organisations to communicate hardware with software and establish communications between them. But how can that connectivity be evaluated, developed, and maintained? This study provides an overview of the challenges and advantages of connectivity. It has also created a self-assessment tool that focuses on evaluating your organization’s supply chain connectivity, which serves as a foundation for integrating your SC and improving your business model.
